Now let’s talk a little about the author

Captain Gopinath hails from a small town known as Gorur located in the Hassan district in Karnataka. He finished his early schooling at the Sainik Military School that was situated in Bijapur before he joined the famed National Defense Academy and then passed out from the Indian Military Academy.
The people who played a significant role in his life are
His father – his father believed going to school was not important so he was homeschooled by his father in the local language.
His principal – Gopinath knew he wanted to become a soldier, so he went ahead to give the entrance test to get admission in a Sainik School, but he couldn’t because it was in english, so the principal requested for a re attempt in their local language. He made it to a Sainik School in the second attempt and that paved the way for him to become a soldier.

Why did Captain Gopinath tell his story to the world?
Captain Gopinath’s purpose for writing “simply fly” is to motivate people to work hard and not to lose hope because everyone’s life has ups and downs, as in Captain Gopinath’s life, which always lead you to the right path if you want.

What is the story about?
The story is about a village boy, who rose from riding a bullock cart to owning an airline. It is the story of common man’s trials and travails; struggles and triumphs; successes and failures. The book takes the reader through the highs and lows as the story of Captain Gopinath progresses.

What is the climax of this story?
The story deals with a lot of twists and turns, the major one being, when Captain Gopinath quits the army, filled with loads of courage and dreams, and then followed by turning the barren land into a big green land, then the opening of the first low cost airlines.

The book is full of adventures that show how Gopinath handled tight situations and came out with flying colors.

This is about how he planted each of his dream and when it grew to its peeks he cut it down and planted another new dream….
